Latency when activating effects through assigned keys

Hi,
The problem I have been having with Live 4 is as follows:
I do live remixes which involve putting numerous effects on a particular clip, then assigning a (qwerty) keyboard key to switch that effect on and off, or to change the parameters of that effect. Often, I am switching effects on and off rhythmically, so it is crucial that Live be very responsive when I hit the keys. Live 3 was extremely responsive, but Live 4 has a latency that delays the response just enough to make the sort live remixes I do impossible. For now, I'm still using Live 3 for performances... but I would love to switch to Live 4 (which is, after all, why I purchased the upgrade!)
Has anyone else noticed this problem? Is there a workaround? Is Ableton aware of/working on the problem? All the new features of Live 4 are awesome, but this one little thing is really crippling the program for me!
Any information would be MUCH appriciated!
Thanks,
Scola
