Foot Pedal recommendations?

I'm a bit old-school. I've been using analog looper pedals. I want to start looping with Live now.

What are you guys using to do live looping? Will a simple Sustain pedal work for this or do you need some fancy USB deal?

You use ANALOG looping pedals? I didn't even know they existed.

You can use a sustain pedal if all you need is one switch. You can also get a cheap board like the Behringer FCB-1010.
I'm saving my money, because I kinda want nice feeling expression pedals. But the FCB should work fine once you get it calibrated.

Thanks. I tried the sustain pedal but MIDI mapping does not recognize it.

Loaded looper onto Audio track, pressed the MIDI mapping key, clicked on the record button, pressed the sustain pedal down and no map recognized.

Do you know why?

ah, I figured it out. You must have Remote turned ON for the midi device the pedal is plugged into. In the pref.

Cheers,

The ZVex Lo-Fi Loop Junky is the only true analog looper that I know of:

For looping with Ableton, I use the UMI3 (doesn't get much easier or portable than this):
