Crash fest with I.K. Multimedia sampled instruments. Help!

At this point I have tried nearly every trick under the sun. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both Live and I.K. stuff as administrator. I have installed on Windows 7 and Windows XP. I have moved VST folders to different drives. I have run Live as administrator. But frustratingly, some of my favorite vintage flavored plugs (i.e. IK Multimedia), upon playback of recorded midi absolutely zap the Life out of Ableton. Live produces a most unpleasant digital buzz and disappears leaving me with only the incessant buzz pouring through my monitors. My suspicion is that some brilliant being out there has a cost effective work around for this issue and I am a-lookin for em! So, if you have any insignt at all and all insight is appreciated, please post a little something here! And, yes I.K. and I have had several conversations, but due to an overwhelming difficulty to maintain a coherent flow of communication with them I have come here. :!:

Unfortunately, the solution for now is to stop using IK Multimedia plugins with Live. Countless posts on this forum about their instability with Live. I hate it because I really miss the T-Racks singles in my projects, but I've communicated with support about the issue quite a bit and all they can offer is that the developers are working on it.

Awwwwwww.... :( Well, I feel a little better just having someone else validate my experience. Strangely though, I am able to use my T-Racks plugins flawlessly on my laptop with Live 8.1.4. Haven't tried T-Racks on the big machine yet.

Just wanted to say that I am now having success with the IK plugs after reinstalling Ableton and IK plugs as administrator and then running Ableton as administrator. :idea:

Thanks for following up: can I ask what version of Windows and Live you're using successfully? XP or 7? I assume you're on Live 8; if yes, the latest beta? Or are you using an earlier version?

Cheers,
T

I'm having a similar problem to the OP. However, strangely enough the only IK plugin that works with my fresh install of Win 7(64) is TRacks Deluxe. All my other IK plugs do not even show up when scanned and rescanned.

@TaoNao, how do you install as administrator? When I launch Live it doesn't give me the user account screen, so I thought that I was running it as administrator. If I disable User accounts will these issues go away?

@ Simpleton - You can install Live as administrator by uninstalling your current version and then reinstalling by right clicking on the installer icon and selecting "run as administrator". It is the same process with the IK plugs as well. When opening Live and intending to work on or record any instrument from IK you have to remember to also right click on the Ableton Live icon and select "run as administrator". Now this option is only viable with my Windows 7 64 bit system and not the laptop which runs XP. I still cant get reliable playback minus crashes on the XP system.

@Theys- Answer above

@ Theys - I did the same process with all of my T-Racks plugs and so far so good.

@ Simpleton - I have completely terminated all securities on the user accounts on my Win 7 system. This did seem to help many of my plugins to finally appear in my VST folder.
