Guess what ... goin MAC ?! Big dilemma

many mac related topics lately but not from a windows super junkie fanatic supporter kill for win (win+win) etc etc
I decided to go for a new laptop and except that id like to work with OSX once again!!
So im thinking to do a 2in1 by getting a macbook pro and if ...
iiiiiiiifff
everything will go fine, then i may go for a top spec imac 27 in 2-3 years (if)
now my big problem ...
i cant find any MBP 13" with an i3 or an i5
(i read to some forums that the size of the "i" line is bigger and apple have to release a new 13" body.... dont know if true)...
anyway i guess ill have to choose between
13" - core 2 duo 2.4
and
15" - i5 2.4
but the difference is 550 euros (from amazon.co.uk)....
So the quenstion is .... 550 euros for 2" more and an i5 instead of C2D? ?*@?#
worth it?
** Recently i tested a dell inspiron with just an i3M 2.26 / 2GB ram / 5400 HD
loaded some of my projects and the CPU went at maximum 60% (very good for the specs imo)
[26 tracks / 190 instances of live devices]
so... second q ... will the c2d @ 2.4 be faster than an i3 @ 2.26? (i guess no way lol)

there is a big difference in price between the 13 and 15 inch but also a considerable difference in processing power as well as screen resolution!
as someone else put it here on the forum: "the core2duo is 4 years old. i would'nt pay top dollar for the 13 inch macbook pro"
i just ordered the 15 inch and i dont think i will regret it!
good luck

Thanks misiu, agree with anything said !
right now in my basket £1,396 = 1,680 EUR
1. Belkin Bluetooth Lounge Mouse - White - F5L031qqWHT - Belkin £12.99
2. Apple MB570Z/A Mini Display Port to DVI Adapter - Apple Computer - £21.00
3. MacBook Pro 15inch 2.4GHz (Intel Core i5, 4Gb RAM, 320Gb HDD, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 256 MB, SD card slot, Intel HD Graphics, up to 9 hour battery life) - £1,352.26
4. Belkin F4U016UK 4 Port Desktop USB Hub with Power Supply - £9.99
man i dont think i have the balls to click the "checkout" button
Im hearing evil voices from the past:
hey! you can go for a top dell laptop with 1 year more support and some better spects and you save 800 euros for a trio with 2 porn-stars or more
on the other hand ... aluminum body - battery - illuminated keys - better resolution - OS - programs - trackpad

Check the refurb section on the Apple site too, you might find a pretty good deal on one of the newer MBP's.

i would not take an 13" one, they not even have an audio in...
i know if you are using a proper soundcard it doesn't matter, but i think it's weak for such an expensive laptop to not even be able to do quick and dirty recordings via the built in soundcard... i really don't know what's wrong with apple lately and their hardware policies.
it really sucks IMO.

unfortunately my location in to Greece so it is a big risk to buy out from EU
amazon.co.uk currently is 350+ euros cheaper than Greece (for the same things)

Sure they do. You can switch the port between input and output in system preferences. It's a little cumbersome as you can't use the in and out simultaneously, but it works.

yes but not for now :/
maybe when i decide to replace my desktop after 2-3 years
(looking forward for a quad i7 - 8GB Ram 27" tank imac with SSD

)
but now i need a laptop anyway and except that i'd like to go apple again (for a while on not) ...
so now it may be the correct time ... for a macbook pro
Ill get the laptop that i need anyway... and back to mac (2 in 1)
but the F**** machine is so expensive for the Europeans and especially for those who dont have a real apple store in their country. + the worst support ever

Some time ago I bought a MBP 15" from the french Refurb. I saved 600€.
When I was decided to buy one I was looking at the refurb every day to seek for the model I wanted.
Don't you have a refurb in the Greece Apple store ? I mean there is sometimes good deals and you feel better to not pay the high price. But you need to be careful to the specs.
