Anyone got any suggestions? Recently I've played and enjoyed:

- Mass Effect 1 & 2
- Dragon Age Origins
- Fallout3
- Final Fantasy 13
- Bioshock
- Dead Space

Red Dead Redemption doesn't really interest me. I'm eyeing Assassin's Creed 2 and Alan Wake. The first Assassin's Creed was sorta fun, but got boring fast, though I hear the new one is a lot better. Any other ideas?

The new Transformers game that just came out is actually pretty awesome. Leaps and bounds better than the last 2 joke attempts at a game they had came out with.

The multiplayer is surprsingly fun and the campaign so far has been fun too.

It's kind of like Halo and Tribes 2 had a lovechild. You can download the multiplayer demo for free and check it out.

If you liked Bioshock you could always get Bioshock 2 of course.

Splinter Cell Conviction was fun. A lot different than the average splinter cell game because there is a lot more action and it's not the end of the world if someone spots you, if you get spotted you just have to shoot your way out.

Dante's Inferno is a respectable substitute for God of War and provides some good hack and slash action with graphics that aren't half bad either.

Thanks. Forgot to add I really don't care for multiplayer games, but I'll check out the other ones you mentioned.

For something completely different, Plants vs Zombies. It is a little silly, but it gets more intense than you think it would, but it is also funny: there is a "Zomboni", for example.

I play this on the iPhone/iPad. Still sort of amazed when some of these games are adapted from consoles or computer because they don't seem they'd be worth the purchase on those formats or I don't see how they would work sans the touch screen factor.

and a +1 for Bioshock 2. I love that series, great gameplay, graphics, story, and atmosphere.

Assassin's Creed II improves over the original in every way. A must have.

Red Faction: Guerrilla rocks.

Not sure why youre not into Red Dead. It's one of the best games that's come along in a while.

Also check out a game called Limbo in the Live Arcade. Very cool.

What's that zombie game where you're running around a mall destroying zombies with anything and everything you can get your hands on and there's some kind of picture taking function too? That alone almost made me want to buy an xbox. It's kind of old so you could probably get it for cheap.

^^^ That would be "Dead Rising". It's one of my favorite games this generation, but it's polarizing. You'll love it or despise it. Alan Wake is REALLY good. If you liked Dead Space, you'll probably like Alan Wake. It does have the same problem as Dead Space in that it's pretty short. It was worth it to me though. I'm 1/2 through my second play through on nightmare difficulty.

The only reason I didn't like Dead Rising because it had to load practically every 90 seconds, the loading was somewhat slow. The checkpoints were also set up at poorly planned parts of the game. I hated having to sit and watch the same movie over and over and waiting for it to load after only 90 seconds of video gaming action.

I hear the sequel is supposed to be pretty sick though, don't think it is out yet though?

Get the oblivion game of the year edition, thats truly the best rpg i have played and you wont need another game for several years, its possibly the most epic game in existence.

Hm, from what I saw of Dead Rising it sort of looked like GTA or Fallout (looking forward to the next Fallout) in that you could just spend loads of time destroying zombies as opposed to following the story. I don't remember any load time issues or a lot of cut scenes. But really I saw it for all of 10 minutes.

Since the iPad (iPhone actually) I've been more a fan of simpleton time waster games as opposed to serious time commitment games you get on consoles with almost zero replay factor. I know you can change the difficulty level and maybe choose if you are going to be good or evil this time around, but still too much commitment time involved for me.

All the big ones are mentioned here already but there's quite a few goodies more in live arcade. Limbo was nice indeed but overall I preferred Braid as far as puzzle platformers go. It'll make your brain hurt but in a good way. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, which originally was released on PS1, is sublime. Great 2D action platformer adventure with light RPG and "open world" elements in it. But probably the best game, and definitely the biggest seller, in live arcade is Trials HD. It's simple, fun and so addictive!

The Ninja Gaiden games were pretty fun too. Not a bad option for a cheap solo player game.

Not into sports games I take it?
