Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD
uh you're right, I had never paid attention to get_selected_notes/replace_selected_notes/select_all_notes

Bump... Mr. TouchAble?
Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD
Don't worry guys, the perfect piano roll/ step sequencer is going to come, no panic from our side
Congratulation to Liine team, they did a a really good job on this one.
For those who absolutely can't wait to use midi note edition with touchAble, TouchAble and Griid work perfectly together with multitasking on iPad.
oh, and yes of course, for those who absolutely can't wait to use mixer, devices, pads, keyboard, tempo, quantize, loop edition, etc... Griid and touchAble work perfectly together with multitasking on iPad.

Well,
Got my iPad recently and am loving it.
Downloaded all the various apps Griid, Touch OSC and touchable.
Managed to get Griid working last night. Good but a little underwhelmed (more to come I know).
Almost didn't bother with touchable as I screwed up my internet connection trying to get the ad-hok thing going.
Eventually just synched using the standard ip address for my wireless and
SUFUCKINGPERB
Minor problem not being able to get Zebra off touchable devices even though I swapped it with another VST and then deleted the track!
Going to try and do my house party DJ set using tomorrow (Launchpad as backup )
Great Job guys

TouchAble lite for iPhone please?
Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD
I just don’t get it – why buy an Ipad + controller software when you can buy cheaper a dedicated hardware controller ?
I suppose it's because the Ipad has wonderful pro music outputs that it makes me want to rush out a pay £700 + network fee for a piece of Apple gimmickry. Oh, just so I can look cool and be trendy!
Oh, it may get better as I hear Ipad 2 is going to be released soon!

If you have chance to compare any hardware dedicated controller and ipad + touchAble, please do it and come back here, you might have a different perspectiveCFM wrote:I just don’t get it – why buy an Ipad + controller software when you can buy cheaper a dedicated hardware controller ?

coming no ETA yet though!rosti wrote:TouchAble lite for iPhone please?
@CFM
The biggest difference to normal hardware controllers is probably the enormous amount of visual feedback & the sheer number of controls.
You can get an WiFI iPad for less without having to pay any network fees btw

Re: TouchAble - complete controller for Ableton Live & IPAD
I think you're forgetting the fact that many of us use ipads for other purposes besides controlling live (ebook reader, internet browser, utility apps, especially news and magazine apps, portable videos etc.). So to have a multitouch control surface for a few dollars for live as well is more than kinda cool. I still prefer my APC40 for jamming, but even that, which is the most advanced Live hardware controller. does not have anywhere near the amount of functionality as touchable. So if you want to get an ipad to look trendy, that's your business, but some of us like to use it for sensible purposes. I personally rarely take it out of the house, so I don't "look" like anything.CFM wrote:I just don’t get it – why buy an Ipad + controller software when you can buy cheaper a dedicated hardware controller ?

Well, if Apple would like to send me a Ipad (FREE) then I'll certainly test it

I hope workshop was successfully, please share some info about mentioned upcoming update.
Yesterday I had “click” with using touchAble, now I’m really happy with this controller.
First time I appreciated native skin for EQ8, its fantastic tool for play live! Please implement more native skins (compressor, limiter etc. with gain reduction visible) , definitely it is great way to go.
More I use touchAble , more I like it.
