Mac OSX and Edirol UA-1X problem?

I've recently started using Live and have just added the Edirol UA-1X USB audio interface to my G4 Mac.
It seemed to be working fine initially (for the first day), but when I booted up Live yesterday I got the following error message initially, and then when trying to select the audio ouput in the Live preference area:
"The device "USB Audio CODEC (0 In, 1 Out)" only has input channels. Live supports only audio devices that have at least on stereo output."
I unplugged the interface and plugged it back into a different USB port on the back of the G4. All seemed fine again.
Yet when I next booted Live, I got the same error message again.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Simon
