Audiodamage Axon

Anyone got it yet?

Sounds cool, with a very interesting built in sequencer (instant Monolake rythm tracks) but the gui looks so small as to be unusable on a higher res monitor.
I know I'm getting on a bit (need reading glasses now ) but it's tiny on my 1680x1050 15.4" laptop.
And no demo? Seems to be an Audiodamage policy, hence I've not bought any of their plugins yet.

Certainly intriguing . . . It's getting heavily discussed over at KVR

Yeah, I've seen that mentioned on kvr. Seems a strange way to do it, but whatever.

I've decided against getting it anyway, the sequencer looks interesting, but operator can make the same kind sounds, and I think the gui is way to small.

(Of course if I had played with it, it may have convinced me it was worth spending money on.)

Axon is certainly the coolest thing they've come out with. I'm enjoying it a lot... it's great for Eno style ambient stuff too. It takes a little while to get used to, but it certainly is a fresh, new idea. Kind of reminds me of Synplant - one of those quirky little devices that just inspires you.

Listening to some of the presets, it seems clear that Chris Randall has been listening to some of the recent Autechre stuff...

I have it- and it is a lot of fun and inspiring, especially incorporating feeding the midi to other instruments.

And not like anything else I've ever tried in that it is unpredictable but not random.

Well worth a try I reckon.

Rob.

I have been using it to control synplant... and got some interesting results

I found that the sound generation part of Axon was not that inspiring for me.. would have been nice with a noise generator in there as well.
