cannot hear midi instrument

I recently purchased a Korg keyboard. After installing the drivers etc., I tried to play my Cameleon and other midi instruments to no avail. I see that the instrument and midi keyboard is being recognized by the program but I can't hear the sound. I have tried every possible i/o, midi to and audio to connection but when playing the board, I still hear no sound. Note: If I play the on screen keyboard using the mouse, I can hear the notes.
Please help. I am exhausted now.

Did you arm the track for recording?

He must have, since the computer keyboard MIDI thing is working.
Do you see the MIDI velocity VU meter going up and down when you press keys on your controller? If not, you might need to check that the controller is being recognized by Ableton, which you can do in preferences -> MIDI. Make sure "track" is enabled for your controller, and when you go back to looking at the track, make sure the track is accepting that controller (or "all inputs"). Like kloosterj said, always make sure the track is armed for recording or has monitoring set to input.
Good luck to you!

Thanks to all the forum members who responded to my post. I feel a little embarassed to report that the reason why I wasn't able to hear sound (after being peturbed and frustated throughout this process-a day and a half) is because I didn't arm the track. I am so sorry for wasting the forum's time.
My humble apologies,
CAP

No time waste about it - not arming the track is a common problem, and other people might have the same question for the same reason. Glad to hear it worked out though.
I just reread your post and realized I was mistaken about the keyboard->MIDI tool, as you weren't using that all. Sorry for the confusion!
