Hello!
Word has it there's a tapestop patch on this forum (using curve and a delay), an improvement of this one:

But I'm having some trouble finding it. Anybody know where it is?

So how is this supposed to work? Is the last played 1/4 bar or something continiusly uppdated into buffer~ and crossfaded into the playing audio when tapestop is triggered?
I guess using groove~ the object of choice for slowing down? Curve will give a exponential or logarithmic curve, but I guess a line~ will do the trick good enough?

I find myself on OSX these days, and i can't believe there is no decent free tape stop plug in. Its ridiculous.
All the ones I have seen that are available don't have tape start either.
Is it so hard for someone (cleverer than me ofcourse) to directly copy the tapestop vst that is available on pc? That is the best one.
I'm not impressed.

I did mate. It clicks according to the author, and doesn't have separate speed select for both start and stop tape. It doesn't even have tape start. Also, I dont have m4l and would not pay for it just for that. But a tape stop effect is what i need after moving from windows. Eugh i knew i d be missing stuff.

The linked blog post explains that it's
another maxforlive device (TapeStop) that clicks. Pitch drop doesn't click (I'm the author).
Unfortunately I don't know of a good OSX alternative (the reason i built pitch drop).

Can you build it exactly like tapestop with start and stop sliders?

I think that a person motivated to do so could recreate tapestop in max for live.

Or how about someone builds it for you, investing countless hours in development to have it downloaded and never hear from you again.....
Get on the team and contribute!!
Cheers

Hi guys, look there is no freakin way I am going out of my way to learn a coding language to get a free vst tape start effect available in windows.
I'll boot windows instead yeah?
come on!
I just assumed this basic stuff would be taken care of by people like you!
Kind of highlights the state of play with m4l for me.
ie. needs some more professional help.
