Please finally fix exclusive arm bug when midi mapped! Thnx!

Seems to be a long standing bug... I have track select and arm midi mapped to allow easy switching via fcb1010. But no matter if exclusive arm in preferences is selected or not, live disregards it (if not immediately, then very quickly). I'm trying to create a multiple track live audio looper with multiple effects on each track but this is a major setback to it performing smoothly. any solutions?

+1 It is a weird one, this... So strange that Live "forgets" that Arm Exclusive is on... after an indeterminate period of time...

+1 however this seems to be a bug only when using Windows.

It could be a Mac thing too considering Pitch black is also experiencing it. I tested it in a fresh set but didn't know that the results are different depending on how long you're using Live.
Probably some crucial info for Ableton. It means a specific action may be breaking this.
If you see it happening again, immediately go to the help menu and select "Get Support".
This creates a status report which Ableton can use to verify and reproduce this bug.

Hmmm...I'm wondering if this might be caused by a wrong sequence of MIDI control messages. There's a "feature" which allows you to temporarily override exclusive arming with a MIDI controller by pressing and holding multiple buttons on your controller at once. That's basically similar to what the Shift (Command?) key does when using the mouse.
In order to distinguish between these 2 states (button was pressed and immediately released vs. button is still held down), your controller must send discrete MIDI messages on button-press and button-release.
An example:
- a NOTE ON (button-press) will arm the track
- a subsequent NOTE OFF (button-release) makes it exclusive
- if another NOTE ON arrives before the NOTE OFF, the exclusive function will be overridden until all tracks have received their respective NOTE OFFs.
Long story short: If exclusive arming doesn't work for you, even though you press (and release) only 1 button at a time, carefully check how you have programmed your MIDI controller. Make sure that it sends a NOTE ON on button-press and a NOTE OFF on button-release. Likewise, when using CCs, send a CC value >64 on button-press and a value <64 on button-release.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. Good advice but Note-on & Note-off is not an issue in my situation. Anyhow luckily it works with my current midi-ox/yoke topography. Perhaps someone else can give clues if it does not work for them (or maybe I will try to reproduce it again).

ABLETON PLEASE FIX THIS PROBLEM! I'm running Live 8.2.5 on a brand new macbook pro and I'm still having the same problem! I use the pads on an MPK49 to arm tracks but it randomly doesn't arm "exclusively" like everyone else is saying, extremely inconvenient for live performance!

Doesn't work for me anymore either. Actually it works for only a few times then is ignored unless I restart. I'm moving to Reaper - they do not have arm exclusive but one can assign a midi button to unarm all tracks.
