Keyboard shortcut gone ???

hi guys
i had a strange issue with my mac keyboard.... from one day to another the keycommand to insert a midi track was gone ?
even in the menu it was not there anymore....how strange is that ?
after rebooting the problem was solved, but anyway, what was happening there ? any ideas ?
i know, its a weird problem and i wonder what this is, aynbody had this before ?
