im wondering how many midi controllers are on the market, everyone need a mouse and a good keyboard for working hours in the studio, but i cannot find it. know i think about buying a keyboard with macro options and a nice ergonomic trackball to save space on my desk.

im on pc with win7.

I was wondering about the exact same thing myself (well the keyboard part of it, anyway), and I'll go see if
one of the local shops has a Logitech G110 later today; it seems to fit the bill perfectly, with 10 customisable
buttons and three banks for different applications.

Kensington Expert Mouse -great name for a trackball, eh?

Big trackball, scroll ring, four buttons with two additional two-button combinations, detachable wrist-rest, settings customizable for the various software you use & they automatically update to whatever software you are currently using, good programming software.

You can use your fingers &/or thumb for variety & control. Plus it's really easy to switch which hand you're using for even more comfort.

A tad expensive, but it has a 5-year warranty, & Kensington tech & customer support is excellent.

But get the older model, as pictured, & use the older software (version 3.0). The new model & software haves less features. That's progress for ya!

Try switching back & forth between which hand you're using: you might be surprised how easy it is. This gives your primary hand a rest.

I also lean my hand on it's edge, with the meaty side of the edge of my hand still on the padded wrist rest, then I use my thumb (or thumb & index finger) to control the ball &/or scroll ring -this also gives my hand a rest from being in basically the same position all the time.

Indeed the only device that I am able to use left handed, and I did a bit at the beginning when still "recovering" from pads and mouse. Perhaps the most interesting part about the ergonmic aspect is that with time you adapt to use absolutely minimum strength. I use regular mouse (bt actually) when working with 2 computers and it is easy to notice the diffrence- how quickly the tensions build up and tiredness. With Kensington you can work forever without side effects.

My choice is Kensighton Orbit Optical.

Good results and no more pain in my wrist. I started to suffer from it 9 months ago, and the trackball has been a miracle to me.
