live + 3 delta 66's

Hi Guys,

I'm pretty new to music production and have the following problem...

I've recently purchased an allen & heath pa12 mixer to use with live. My plan was to control one ableton track with one of the 12 mixer's channels, which I believe is a pretty common setup.

The problem is that I only have a m-audio delta 66 soundcard which has just 4 inputs and 4 outputs.

On the m-audio website I read that it is indeed possible to use up to 4 soundcards simultaneously.

My question now is , is it possible to use 3 delta's with live ("rooting" the ableton track to the appropriate mixer channel)??? buying 2 more delta's would be quite cheaper than buying a 12 I/O soundcard.

Any help would be highly highly appreciated!

PS..I do not use any external instruments etc and run win 7 if that makes any difference

Hi,

basically you can only setup one audio card/driver in Live.

Some audio cards are cascadable so they will appear as one big card instead of different single cards.

On Mac you should also check out the aggregate device functionality: http://www.apple.com/pro/techniques/aggregateaudio/
But also here it is required that the Delta driver is capable to address multiple cards of the same type at the same time.

I couldn't find any helpful information on the M-Audio web-site but I would suggest to contact the M-Audio support regarding that topic.

Best Regards,
Marian

Its possible to link up the Delta cards using the digital I/O.

I did this myself bought 2 Delta 66 cards planning to get more but then decided to get the rack mounted 1010.

Just check out the manual its easy to set up, you just need the right cables.
