I occasionally get these little glitches in the waveform that cause clicks when I record into Ableton. I'm assuming this is from my computer's CPU being overloaded (correct me if I'm wrong). Does anyone know a good resource or tool for fixing these. I just got a perfect take but there's a little click in it! ARGH!!

the only way to fix those is to get a good recording from the start. not the best solution but perhaps try increasing your buffer size.

not a whole lot you can do. i've ruined hours of work on a sound by bouncing and then changing the synth to work on another part only to find out the bounced audio had sharp clicks recorded into it.

depending on the sound, you might be able to play with the attack to try and snuff out the click.

Some sound editors have click removal tools. SoundForge used to have a pretty good one.

In soundforge for example there is a pen tool that you can use to "paint" the clicks away, works well for short clicks....

Does anyone know what could be causing these glitches? I have only used Pro Tools before this which automatically stops recording whenever an error occurs, so I am wondering, is this normal for a non-digidesign sequencer to have random errors in the waveform (since the software and hardware aren't talking to each other as intimately as pro tools and an mbox, which allows the mbox to tell pro tools to stop whenever there is a recording error)?
