Oh yes, please throw one for me, too. I can't be there.
But the pope will be coming to Barcelona soon as I had heard, to open a kitschy temple. I will save a shoe for him

Oh look. Another anti-Religion/anti-Pope/anti-Establishment thread that are now painfully
de rigueur .
shocking.
I have an idea. Instead of wasting time throwing shoes, how's about donating some time down at the local food bank/outreach?

just leave him, Darth Vader is going to eventually throw him down some kind of very deep hole in the floor while he's doing lightning out of his fingers, it's only a matter of time.

Be considerate and no discount warehouse shoes. He likes sensible hand stitched Italian brogues and designer Jesus sandals.
Why waste money throwing your possessions at him. He'll have a jumble sale at the Vatican and make enough money to buy lots of kiddie pr0n
For those who are really 'not bothered' about religion, you are going to an awful lot of trouble ... really
Throw some shoes at Gordon Brown, he's the fella who invited him, the Pope hasn't visited Britain since 1982 because him and his entourage don't just show up and gatecrash a country, they only bother coming by official head of state invitations.
The shoes will find their way to missions in Africa, so by throwing shoes you're not really protesting intensely, you're actually doing a good thing, helping charity - so long as you throw them in pairs and they don't have dogshit on them

The man's an irrelevance to 4 our of 5 people in the UK by the latest poll and we still have to spend £12m of our tax money to give him a waving tour.
To quote Dawkins, who is always good for a chuckle in these situations:
"Go home to your tinpot Mussolini-concocted principality, and don't come back."
