using instrument racks for live set?

Hey,

I want to build a midi-based live set using live's drum & instrument racks.

I plan on having sets of midi tracks feeding data to these racks but can't quite figure out how to route the midi data so it enters the right chain.

With the drum racks its handy enough as they are one-hits so I can divide it up using the midi note values but with the instrument racks I cant seem to send riffs to separate instrument chains.

The problem is that if entering a clip on the midi channel with the instrument rack on it, you can choose "Chain Selector" within the midi clip's envelope, but when trying to feed in midi data this isn't available... Anyone any ideas??

A screenshot to help explain...

Bass track should have input armed by the way!
Thanks!

I guess you have to ungroup Bass (push the arrow next to the word bass) Then you should be able to enter midiclips and notes etc.
Hope this helps

Why not trying to put dummy clips into the bass track?
