strange happening - live failed to save set, kind of...

The other day a friend of mine and myself jammed for about three hours straight. I was running live four on my powerbook with reaon running on my imac linked up over tcp/ip using iMidi. During the session I sampled stuff my friend was doing on the imac as well as some stuff off vinyl. At the end of the set we saved the reason material on the imac and when I went to save the liveset selfcontained I got a spinning beachball cursor for about ten minutes.
I have never seen a live set take this long to save and I knew something wasn't right so I force quit live and didn't really think much of it.
This evening I noticed a folder, appropriately named with the title I was trying to save as, containing the samples from our session and an ableton file titled Abletontmp-0000. When I try to launch this file I get an error message saying "an error occured while trying to read ...... Apparently the document was created by a more recent and incompatable version of live than this. [unknown compound stream type]"
I am running 4.03 and have not updated since our session. I am not overly worried about this but thought it worth mentioning.
