The only delayed flight on the board?
The only delayed flight on the board?
Yes, you guessed it, mine.
3 hours....for a 12.5 hour flight that should leave at 9.30 now down as gate open 23.45.
None of the power plugs work in the 'wifi hotspot' so my laptop will be dead before the flight. The only shit to eat is TGI's or some roll 'em out sushi bar. and it's only 7.45pm...
It's dark and I'm wearing shades.
i also wasted the afternoon at the "producer sessions' in Shoreditch before trundling to the hellhole that is heathrow. Tommy D gave us 20 tips on vocal production, 20 tips you have either heard before or would just be common sense, yet some took notes like their lives depended on it.
I'll never go to that kind of 'seminar' again, particularly as the ableton guy, nice as he was, had one mac and was hiding in a cupboard.
Can't say the same about the flight...I'll be doing it again in a month. The really gutting thing was that the flight was due to arrive Singapore at 5.30pmish, plenty of time to see if i could get a cheap ticket somewhere for the F1 grand prix...now....who knows?

Are you sure they didn't delay the plane because you caused a ruckus and threw shoes at a passenger wearing a cross

where you off to?
Re: The only delayed flight on the board?
Do you remember the volcanic ash issue this spring (or when it happened) in Europe?
I was in Munich that time. I was returning home. Almost complete Europe was closed already. The Munich Airport was the only one operating in Germany.
I was expecting problems so have checked-in more than two hours earlier. There were four seats left in the bloody craft.
Well, after wasting the time, finally have performed the usual procedures like security control etc. Have arrived to the gate and here the story begins.
For the first the flight was delayed. The cabin crew got stuck somewhere. Nice, told myself. All the flights except mine one and additional one have been already canceled.
Twenty minutes later the crew's finally arrived. Well done man! Hopefully I'll be able to leave that bloody place. Not really. The flight was overbooked. There were something like two or three times more people than the A320 can take.
The war has started.
Everybody wanted to go home. The second flight has been canceled as well. The mine one was the only one pending. There were messages from the airport staff like: "We can't accommodate all of you in our hotel. There is another flight you can take. Errr, excuse me, you can't. Cancelled already."
Excellent.
In the end I was one of the few people who has a seat number already so got aboard. The cabin crew started pushing us to hurry up. Why? The air-space was about to be closed in few minutes.
That bloody Airbus was the last one which left the German air-space.
So, sometimes you can be successful. Don't panic.

Have you taken an advantage of A380? I'm really attached to this flying building.UKRuss wrote:Nice!![]()

Anyway, take umbrella and enjoy the city.
Re: The only delayed flight on the board?
Nah, was a jumbo out, Qantas do the return leg, not sure what planes they use. City enjoyed, I'm just chilling at the hotel now for a few hours then back to the airport.
Re: The only delayed flight on the board?
Jumbo is also acceptable for me. Still remembering the view in Munich Airport—about fifty 747s in several lines.
I'm chilling at work. Using Live as iTunes.

Re: The only delayed flight on the board?
Back at work in London.
Not sure how long I am going to last though....jetlag eating me up from the inside.
but on the plus side, got a Airbus 380-800 on the way back, emergency exit row seats and no-omne sitting next to me, woop woop!
massive plane....I mean really massive, the wings even looking at them from inside the plane are impossibly long. An amazing thing.

Thought the producer sessions with the freemasons was OK - even if it was just a case of "add new york compression to everything" and "this is how you groove quantize an audio track". Missed the rest of the day though.
Re: The only delayed flight on the board?
Yep. we're opening an office out there so I had some shit to sort out but, coudn't really justify company cash on a week long jolly or anything...
Shame you didn't do the F1 gig, that would have been massive, the party was huge!!! Gutted I missed the race.
Other hand, London is closer.
I thought the whole producer sessions was a bit meh...but I did miss the freemasons, although they were chatting in the back row during Tommy D.
