Exclude certain tracks from Scene Launch

Post by Gluon » Mon Sep 27, 2010 8:00 am

Simple really,

I would like to lock or exclude certain tracks from scene launch so clips on these tracks are independent from scene launch/stop etc

yep why not... The other side of this thread

Possible with duplicating the scene, but you probably don't want to do this.

+++1 This would be great, as I spend time setting up clips in scenes below/above the Launch line. I want to set the bpm/signature with Scene Launch, but not use every Track from the get-go. This would be cool.

this is a feature i would like to see added as well, but for maximum flexibility, i feel it should be a clip-based function rather than a track-based function - allowing us to choose whether to exclude items from scene launch on a per-clip basis...

I agree, clip based would be much better in most circumstance......but disable entire track would be useful as well. I say get both option in a cascading manner, eg the default behaviour of the track would be scene launch with the ability to overide on a clip by clip basis, and vice versa (set track to ignore scene launch, but overidable also on a clip by clip basis.)

Have you tried the Remove Stop Button feature? I think it might be what you're looking for.

Not the most perfect solution but you can create sub scenes by grouping tracks together and using the group clip button like a scene launch button. I also find this quite a handy way of collapsing down large numbers of tracks for ease of performance.

Bit late to reply, but I would love this feature too. In the context, for example, of launching a scene with several clips on it, some of which you'd like to remain unlaunched, mainly because you're trying to save space and utilise your tools as best as possible - in my case, it's trying to keep each group of elements within a project to one grid reference on my launch pad session view.

I've had an interesting mail exchange with the abes about this, i hope they'll take note for L9.

Meta clips!

Select a family of follow action clips: group to one, single row meta clip.

5 Clip rows on the APC is unusable for my music at Lives current state. I use them for playing notes and drums instead.

Perhaps add a third direction to the Live sequencer.
X - Arrange View
Y - Session View
Z - Meta/Group View

I'd like this too. Seems more relevent than ever now everyone's using APCs and Launchpads.

I could cut out a lot of unnecessary almost duplicate scenes and could probably condense tracks to 1 8X8 grid for playing live.

I'd like to see a lot more of these little performance enhancing ideas. They'd probably be quite easy to implement as well compared to some feature requests.
