Ableton vs Maschine=10 songs in 10 days

I posted this in the link your music thread but I wanted to post it here as well to get some real feedback... Back in Feb I got Maschine and working with it in Ableton and the millions of possibilities that provided got me thinking...I could spend forever working on one track but could I record a song per night? I set about doing just that--no thinking (over thinking) just going by instinct. These are the results, I'd love some feedback/criticism. The album is a free download.

I'm about three tracks in and digging it.
I've been curious to hear some Live/Maschine users work, nicely done. Would be interested to hear more about your workflow. Are you doing the beats in Maschine and the other parts in Live? On Acts of Giants, the melody, is that in Maschine? The vocal samples... are you sampling into Maschine?
cheers

I commend you.
You gave yourself a framework and focused on getting shit done.
Really nice job of mixing; sounds/elements sit well together.
Now, raise the bar...

thanks for the props guys. with regards to work flow, it was different on each tune but for the most parts all of the beats and more than half the sampling was done with Maschine. I also did some bass in Maschine and the odd synth, but it's strength really lies in the beatmaking and the ease of use. Basically with the two programs you can whip off ideas in minutes, I found the only thing that was limiting me was my own self...for example the second song "Strictly" starts off with that nasty sounding keyboard, in other works i've done I would have said "that sucks" and try something different, but in this case I felt like I stuck with it because I had to, and then turned it into something useable.
Thanks for listening, if anyone who does mastering checks it out i'd love some opinions on that, it is the first thing I've mastered myself and I have so much to learn....any tips would be amazing.

Right on man, nice sound. I respect the time limitation thing too. Sometimes it's the only of actually getting something done. The only things I've really liked of my own have happened mainly in a day/night. It's so hard sometimes to back to something after a while and add parts because you get in a whole new vibe. Everything at once is a great way to go as far as writing. And then maybe mix another day.

do you use maschine as plug-in in ableton, or as a standalone, midi synced?

@the carpet cleaner---ableton plug in. I'll occasionally just use it by itself but not for this project.

Cool stuff. I've thought about Maschine a couple of times but I need to make do with what I have for now.
I'm doing something similar to this, in that I'm creating tracks on my lunch break. Songs in one hour. I've learn a lot about trying to turn a little into alot. Taking the same melody and EQing or adding an effect that makes it fresh. I'm also so learning a lot about creating synths quicker.
Here is my twitter for all the songs:

Keep it up man.

@cc--thanks for checking it out!
@js-- very cool idea. I used to sometimes make beats at lunch. Will check it out. But Maschine with Ableton is unstoppable--you lunch will never be the same
