Well if you need it for things like an iPad, leave it on. If not I suppose it can't hurt to turn it off and be on the safe side. I turn mine off when I think about it, but I've never had any issues when I forget and leave it on either.

ya, I use mine for wireless controllers, so I need mine on.
you really should turn off anything your not using when performing. at the very least, make sure that any programs (messenger etc) are turned off.
also make sure you're bluetooth is off. I heard a story once of a guy performing, and someone in the crowd tried to send him a picture through his cell phone, and it crashed his set.

There really isn't anything wrong with having your airport on as long as you create a private ad-hock network. The last thing you'd want is for someone to hack into your system while performing. Let me tell you I have some friends who'd probably do that to me just so prove a point.
As much as I hate wires, issues SUCK, i love my ipad, but I'd take my apc40 any day.

be careful. I had gmail notifier running and if ever i got an email while performing everyone would hear a delightful "BING" noise mid song.

You make sure you don't have system sound going through your interface. Use the build in speaker instead if you must. I have to say getting those notifications are annoying even in the studio

In case you have already been googling this, there was a specific OS X Tiger update - 10.4.11 - that killed audio when the airport was on. It's been subsequently fixed, but there might be some residual info coming up about this if you look for it. Since the fix, and also on Leopard / Snow Leopard, no audio problems from airport.
Though, if you're not using a wireless controller, for example, I'd always disable it for playing Live. Just one less thing to worry about...

and make sure the facebook chat "pop" sound does not go trough the club speakers
i for one have everything turned on. i'm online, i have chat running, everything. it's the way the computer get used daily => it's the way it works best. disabling stuff might just irritate the setup.
