I downloaded the LineFO 1.2 and it is great but unfortunately you cannot adjust the amount of the random LFO. Is there a device out there that can do this? I want to control ableton devices with the LFO. I tried "advanced lfo tools" but this cannot directly control ableton devices.

You might want to check el Effo in this package....

It has a variable randomize function based on the original waveform, and el Effo and the 2 other control devices (Side Chainer and Multiplexd) all use a framework with an amount setting that is easily control by automation or a MIDI controller, etc. I've heard from other people who found what you are asking for in Max Fuel, the First.

Thanks, that looks like it would work, too bad it's not free but I might have to buy it anyway.

If anyone has any free suggestions I am open to them as well.

One question--if you set the variable randomize function in el Effo to 100% is it a completely random LFO, or does it still resemble the waveform that you are randomizing?

Okay thanks I've got a few options here. I also found out that the El Effo random function is indeed random.

I wrote LineFO. This is something I've been meaning to do. To clarify, by amount of random, do you mean the range?

Yes by amount of random I meant range.

Thanks for writing/sharing it, I like the simplicity of it and the small amount of horizontal space it takes up compared to other devices.

Also what is the difference between random (other) and (any)?

im just guessing that other never repeats itself back to back

Correct. It's exactly the same behavior you with with (any) or (other) with Follow Actions in Live.
