Hello, I've never really used a DAW before but am very interested in learning to use Live 8. I was hoping that someone could suggest an absolute beginners book or website for me to start with? Thank you. -Mike

I recommend to start with the built in tutorials. (you open them from the help menu)

Open the help view at the bottom left.

Read the manual on each topic that you find interesting.

Then start to ask questions here on the forum.

You might try downloading a free trial of Live, then checking out the lessons that come with it. They are designed to be accessible to users of all levels, including beginners like yourself.

Hey Mike
I would highly recommend the Ableton tutorials as well as some of the private tutors on the program itself. Nick's is pretty killer. Just google "Nick's Tutorials" or hang out on the Abe's site itself and check out the free beginner tutorials. They are excellent. Don't get all mathematical at this point with respect to mastering, just focus on the mechanics of the program itself. When and if you go ballistic, check out the Bob Katz book on mastering.
