Hi

I have a new (used and refurb) intel Mac Book os 10.6.4 2gb ram 667Mhz DDR@SDRAM
2.2GHZ intel core 2 duo

I use Cubase 5 and Live 8

I got Wizoo's Darbuka VST ( I rely on it all the time) up and running in Cubase but I cant get Live to find it. I installed both the VST version and the AU version.

When I look in finder or in the LIVE set VST folder window in preferences I can see that darbuka.vst is residing in the folder
audio/plug-ins/VST/Wizoo/darbuka.vst

and audio/vst/darbuka.vst

interestingly in the later folder there is also a file called darbuka .component

strangely (cause it is not a wizoo product) the plug in file for novation v station also resides in the same folders.

At the moment v-station is the only other third party instrument that I have loaded on this computer, when I launch live I can find and use v-station both the AU and VST version.

Please tell me how to get Darbuka up and running in Ableton Live.

thanks

Did you try rescanning for plug-ins?

Bad news.
Darbuka isn´t compatible with Intel Macs and it will never become!!

This had been my most painful loss, when I switched to Mac.

This is strange.
Cubase 5 with Mac OS 10.6.4 or with bootcamp and Windows?

I got the answer from M-Audio, that Darbuka and Latigo are outdated and won´t be updated or developed further.
They told me it doesn´t run on Mac OS higher than 10.5.
So I didn´t even try to install it.

Maybe I´ll try it and see if it works with Live and Studio One, which is my main DAW at the moment.

I use Live only on stage, because I don´t get into it as recording machine at all.
It just doesn´t feel right and comfortable after all these years with Cubase.

I got darbuka running on my PC desk top (windows 7 ultimate)

on my Macbook:

I have not had time to really run it through its paces but I did install and launch and hear audio coming from darbuka when used as a VST in Cubase 5.

I would really like to use it in live. Of course the pain in the ass work around would be to use Cubase to create any audio I need from Darbuka then import into live, but that defeats half the purpose which is live manipulation through the useful darbuka GUI.

Let me know if you get darbuka running in Cubase- I'll check back here soon.

No chance.
Installation went fine, but no Darbuka in Live or Studio One.
Cubase has been only on my PC, it will never come on my Macbook.
I try to forget that Steinberg exists.

Right now, as I'm typing, Cuebase on my Mac Pro (OSX 10.6.6) is running Wizoo Darbuka. I'm currently bobbing my head to Nubian Samba...ah, nice. Worked fine on my PC as well, just not in Live.

Ableton Live thinks its not there at all. Just doesn't see it.

is their any other way to run it, so Live can see it? I don't want to have to go back to righting in CuBase, just because of this one plugin...but I do love Darbuka.
