How do I mount .bin in OSX

Hi I recently updated my OS to Snow Leopard and now I cant mount .bin files. You used to be able to do it within the old OS (10.5), I think it utlized Disk Utility to do this. But now I cant seem to do it.
Also I do not want to use Toast to achieve this. I do not like that program and do not wish to have it on my machine. so I'm looking for a freeware solution.
I have already googled this and tired various command line methods but they did not work and were too convoluted.
