Hi Ableton - as the subject says, Ableton is cold crashing on me every 5-10 minutes while I'm working. I've used Ableton for years and have never (maybe once?) had it crash on me. This started happening out of nowhere, as far as I can tell. I don't use 3rd party VSTs, it's a clean, no internet, super minimal work-only computer, latest sound card drivers, the works. Even tried changing out my interface for a different one, same deal. Upgraded from 8.2 to 8.2.1, same deal.

The crashes are consistent and require a reboot every time. As you can imagine, this is insanely frustrating to my workflow.

I sent in the crash reports 2 and 1/2 days ago (Case ableton462517) and still have not heard a peep about my issue. I've always stuck up for Ableton's stability (just read my post history!) but now I feel like asking for a refund . It's that bad.

Any help would be appreciated.

im surprised you even got it to work, ive spent 2 days just trying
to install and open live 8.2.1.
wont install on my 4 year old dell inspiron running win. xp w/ 2 gigs of ram and intel dual core.

just hangs and freezes.

8.2 works fine though. so ill stick with that even though there are gramatical errors on amp presets.

and 8.2.2 or 8.3 will be out soon enough anyways so maybe that'll work.

What are you using? Mac, PC, OS version, interface? I am looking for info on what is stable and you give me .... nothing! 8.2.1 on ...?

I'm using windows 7, main interface is an m-audio firewire 410, backup is an mbox 2. Thing is - I've never had any problems with either of these or windows 7 before! Been using live with these two interfaces for years, never a hiccup.

It is it because your using a windows machine? I've been 97% stable on my MBP...

I will say 7 was and is the best version!

I'm having somewhat the same issue. My live 8 ran well for a while. i bought an Akai MPK25 and it crashes anytime I try to do anything. this is what i am running

HP DV6 series
Windows 7 (64 bit)
2.53 Ghz i5 processor
6 GB DDR3 Ram
640 GB Hard Drive
1 GB ATI Radeon Video card

i am using my TTM57SL for my soundcard and of course the Akai MPK25.
