hi,

i'm dealing just with the demo of suite 8. in operator there is a knob reading spread. if i turn this knob while i'm plying nothing happens but if i release a key and press it again the spread knob works. is this a bug or a feature. i'm using the newest suite 8.

AFAIK : the spread knob effectively doubles, or quadruples up the operator voices and pans them about a bit.
On keydown, Pperator checks this variable to see how many voices it should then play for each note pressed.

If you turn it after the note has started you wont hear anything because it would have to trigger new 'voices' and therefore new notes.

Spread does have a CPU impact, which is worth bearing in mind. Sometimes adding a chorus-type effect can be a simpler solution than adding more voice generation.
