Recording Long sets

I use like to record my dj sets at the club but after about 2 or 3 hours live stops recording. Is this a default feature that I can turn off or that's just how it is?

Thanks

Maybe your hard drive has ran out of space. Have you checked?

But also it depends on how are you recording. If you are rendering, Live cannot export more than 3 hours.

There is no option to turn off recording after a certain amount of time in Live.

probably that's why live stops the recording because of the rendering. I have a lot of hard drive space so that's not an issue. It was something I always experience in recording and there was a post about long recording sets in the bridge forum at serato but I thought it was just a bridge bug but it seems it's the way ableton was meant to function

The size of the wav files may be exceeding the limit, (2GB or something like that)

Not sure if that has to do with the cache size but mine is set to 10gb

No it's just a limitation of .wav files IIRC , only goes up to a certain file size

but hey, i'm not saying thats definitely what the problem is, check the recorded files and see if they're getting that big - it might not even be 2GB it might be 3BG idk, i just didn't want to look it up but you could

hello this is common issue.

2GB limit of WAV and AIFF files

only chance to record long sessions without interruption is in Apple Logic - you have to set in preferences using CAF files instead of WAV or AIFF.

once the ABLETON implement that feature, I will be so happy. But it looks like they event don't know about that 'problem'.
