more like a screenless eMac than headless iMac really, but i think i'd pay
$499 for a G4 1.25ghz, 40GB or 80GB, Combo Drive, 256mb, etc.
i got 2 17" CRT's waiting for a cheap mac!!
"The new Mac is said to be incredibly small and will be housed in a flat enclosure with a height similar to the 1.73 inches of Apple's Xserve. "
Sounds Portable Too!

I don't care how cheap they get, I'll never buy one. The interface of OSX is clunky, Mac doesn't support the software I use, and my PC is much more powerful than any G4 setup.

Yes. I have to use OSX at university. I don't like it. I do most of my work on my PC.

there are things i like about pc and things i like about mac.
also things i dont like about both.
one of the things i dont like about mac is the price, and thats why i think this (which would be the cheapest mac since the days of the Motorolla and PowerMax clones) is a good thing.

I laughed when I read that. Not at you, just that I feel pretty much the opposite. I have to use windows at work and I can not stand it.
To each their own eh.

hehe. Yep. I've always said that tools don't matter in the grand scheme of things.

im all for macs but.... its not a G5 so why waste my money on a computer that isn't as fast?
G4 = lots of latency
G5 = 100 Instances of Absynth 3

You need to pick the right tool for the right job … it makes it so much easier.
You choose your tool and I’ll choose mine, I just hope we always have a choice of tools.
... now pass me the iScrewdriver from my iToolbox.

Hey ambioun,
G5 = 100 Instances of Absynth 3
Is this something you've tried successfully? What was the CPU setup for that G5?
TIA,
Logicat

I'd get excited if it were a G5 for $800.
