Syncing Sampler Sounds

Hi guys,

This is going to probably be a really stupid question...

But, I've loaded in a kick sample into Sampler and I've changed the loop start and end points and set the sustain move to back and forth so it makes this pounding noise/clip - (which I like the sound of!) ...so I opened up my drum rack and dropped in a kick drum just to go on top but I couldn't get the two to sync together. I guess the tempo of the sample being played in sustain mode does not fit in with the tempo of the whole project itself? I know I can throw my drum samples in to the drum rack but I really liked the effect of the sustain and selecting parts of the clip on certain samples.

Again, sorry for any stupidity  but how do I get around this?

Here's the clip itself:

Here's the setting on the sample - if I'm unclear, sorry :(

Oh a creative issue.

I'd export the sound you like and bring it back into Live in Impulse and use the stretch knob to see if you can make it fit. Of course this is going to alter the sound somewhat...but that's sound design for you.

The other option is to import the sound into either Sampler or Simpler after you've exported it as a wav/aif and play it up or down the keyboard. That will change the pitch though...

Actually *I* would put it into Camel Audio Alchemy but without knowing what other VSTs you have that's about it.

Try recording the looped drum kick which isn't fitting your project into an audio clip. Then time stretch the clip to fit your project. Depending on where you loop it you may even be able to drop it in a drum rack or impulse to trigger like any other drum.
