online upgrade to 8.2.1 on new laptop

Hi everyone... I am authorizing Live on my new laptop that just came today (yay!). Ableton's site suggested I download the latest version 8.2.1 "with content." This was after I just used my install disk from the Suite 8 box to load 8.0.1.

What I'm wondering is if I need to load any of the other content from the other disks I have in the box from when I origianlly bought the program (two disks worth of "session drums" and one disk of "essential instrument collection"), or if that would be redundant, with respect to what I just received as the "content" in the online upgrade/authorization I just completed.

(my guess is that there is indeed stuff on those disks that didn't come with the online upgrade, stuff exclusive to the "Suite" package, but I thought I'd ask first in case to avoid potential conflicts if I were to try to install the same stuff twice --- or worse, older versions of stuff)

Hope this makes sense, and thanks for the help!

Hi Scott, to answer your questions:

- Yes, you should download Suite 8.2.1 with content - there have been major updates to the Library. Essentially, the download updates everything that comes on the Suite disc in your box version.

- Yes, you will need to install Session Drums and the Essential Instrument Collection 2 from the DVDs that came in your box. These are not included in the download version of Suite, as the install sizes are too large for a download (Session Drums itself is 28 GB). Once you install the livepacks from these DVDs, Live will automatically update them if necessary.

Enjoy Suite!
