VSTi go to default Patch

Post by armitage_vi » Mon Jan 03, 2005 6:08 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm am new to this forum and would just like to say hello to everyone, I keep running into a problem and maybe one of you guys might be able to help me. My problem is when I create a MIDI track, and I select my VSTi, (say it's the FM7 or Pro-52), When I select my patch or a preset everytime I go to record it goes to a default sound, so it's not recording the patch I want to use. So I then tried to press record first, then find my patch and record it, but this will default the sound as well.

So my question is how can I record into Ableon with it resetting the patch in my VSTi
Regards,
David F

Your trouble's due to the fact that NI uses their own patch format and not the VST standard .fxp/.fxb.In the standalone versions, turn on respond to program changes. Now,when you start to record in Live, send a program change before you start to play.

Yes, this is very annoying as I'm finding out with my new Absynth 3.
