VST-name-variation cause Ableton not to load plugin (psp84)

Hi there,
I have upgraded my OS from win XP to windows 7. All plugins I use seem to work just as fine after the migration, but I am facing a major problem with my copy of PSP 84 (Lexicon Effect). This effect still works fine with win7, but it shows a different identifying name in ableton:
Its name has suddenly changed from "PSP84VST" to "PSP 84", resulting in a plugin-initialisation-error when trying to load any track using the "PSP84VST". When loading the track, ableton complains about not being able to find the effect "PSP84VST" and refuses to load the plugin.
Apart from this, the effect "PSP 84" works fine under win7. But I would have to redo all the settings (including the MIDI-routing) for all the tracks using the "PSP84VST", which is a very annoying task, especially since I am talking about numerous tracks which take use of "PSP84VST" whose plugin-settings have to be reset...
Is there a way to change the name which a vst-plugin uses to identify itself? Or can I force ableton to load the plugin anyways, or at least get hold of the plugin-settings somehow, even if ableton isn“t capable of loading it correctly?
any help will be gladly appreciated, cheers.
