MIDI recording is inaccurate in Live 4

hey all, quick question--
I'm using Live 4 on a Win XP system. Everything is fine except: When I record a MIDI track, some of the notes are recorded 'late' even though I'm not playing them late.
Here's what happens:
1) Using an M-Audio keyboard, I record a Simpler drum track very precisely along with Live's click.
2) When I listen back to the track, about 10% of the notes are 'late' by a 1/16th note. So I have to edit the track and fix all the late notes.
NOTE: It is NOT my playing -- I've been doing this same thing with Reason for years with zero errors. Or is Live way more sensitive than Reason?
I've tried it with Quantization set to 1/16 and none-- makes no difference. Also, my audiocard latency is set to 10ms if it matters.
Any ideas? Thanks,
D
