Is there a way to log the number of times a file is played?

I've been using Ableton for about 4 years now to DJ.

Recently I saw my friend had purchased Traktor and the one feature that I thought was incredibly useful and almost worth buying Traktor for to DJ with was simply in the file explorer that you can see how many times a track has been played.

As a DJ playing every weekend you can quickly see what your 'big songs' are and my friend says this feature is incredibly useful. Now he's been using Traktor for months he has an historical record of what he's played over the past 6 months and it reminds him of great songs he loved in the past but has since forgotten about.

I just wondered if there was a plug in or a way to monitor the number of times an mp3 has been played in Ableton or even an outside program that could do this?

I appreciate that Ableton is also used for production so a 1 bar sample will have a count in the hundreds of thousands but if a plug was developed (or if it already exists) it could be set to only record for files over 1 minute in length or when you select dj mode or something like that.

Let me know if anyone knows how to do what i'm asking or if it's even remotly possible using Ableton, a plugin or a 3rd party program to monitor each time a file is played.

Thanks

David
