Browser Previewing: No Audio if Track level is -infinity

I have just learned about and have started to use the dragging individual tracks to the browser to create
Track Clip.als files.

However for DJing I always set my track level to -infinty so that when the
clips are in the Session view and i'm preview them there, i'm not accidently
launching them into the master audio.

But when i tried to preview these clips in the Browser I see them playing in the preview
but i can't hear them.

After messing/checking with various thing I decided to set the track vol. at zero
and create an new track clip.als file and that worked.

any ideas on how to get around this?

thanks

When you're DJing, do you have a Cue out?

To explain why I asked about cue: when you have a separate cue-out enabled, previews from the Browser will play out of the cue channel(s). The same knob that determines preview volume when you don't have a separate Cue Out active, controls Cue volume when you do. So, if you want to hear a preview of something in that set up, make sure you can hear the cue-out. If you want to see this working, enable In/Out view and notice how Cue Out is active when a preview clip is playing, while Master Out is not.
