Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone has ever found a nice way to emulate a feedback tone, or the harmonics generally associated with feedback using Ableton filters or devices. I'd like to get add that tone to a synth lead I've got.

operator, you can handpick each harmonic you want in the oscillator

Good suggestion! Works great. Now I just need to do a bit of reading about audio feedback to get a background on the harmonics.

send a signal to send A, right click on Send A's send A knob and select enable. Send A now sends to Sed A. be very careful, you probably want to put a compressor/limiter on the track to prevent it from running away.

Actual feedback in real life depends on lots of things, the resonant objects in the system (speaker, cabinet, room, instrument, etc) They all have harmonic resonances that gain dominance depending on how the performer orients him/herself and how far away they are (because distance = pitch)

Robert Fripp's ridiculous feedback sustain tones were often generated by him drawing lines on the floor in front of his cab relating to specific notes and stepping forwards and backwards to sustain that particular note. Fripp heroes guitar sound link

Or, you could just put a short delay line/ allpass in your loop and save your ears
