I'm using my K5000S as a midi controller through an EMU 1212 but now all of a suddon I can't select the midi device anymore...
I get the famous "Failed to open MIDI Device "E-DSP MIDI Port [BC00]"
it was working fine before
any ideas anyone?
I'm using the 4.04 demo on Xp home

I woudl say your best bet would be to just uninstall and then reinstall the emu drivers and patchmix DSP. If tht doesn't work, here's a link to the EMu forums, maybe someone over there will have a better idea:

cheers.. I just did all that (I had to because the EMU didn't even make a sound anymore after a while ?!??) had to change PCI slot and reinstall.
the card works again but still no luck with the midi driver
I'll check out the EMU forum

since I was able to use my keyboard the first time I opened Live 4, could it be there's a configuration file or registry entry that started messing things up after that?

You're sure you have your midi controller selected in the Live Prefs?

well, that's the problem
it lists the emu as active device (which I can select) but I can't select it as remote control because then it gives me the error message
I can't play anything using my keyboard (yes, I have monitor switched on, and record, and ..)
