That's right. Sold my soul, hopped on the wagon, and bastardized a badass old school song in one fell swoop.
Fun!

And another one! A bit different from the first one.

Great remix idea! May i suggest addition of a low sine wave bass to help carry the track through in the heavy parts?

Lord, that's fantastic!
You know what really needs a dubstep remix?

I had a moment of rediscovery of that song this weekend with one of those one link lead to another moments. Then I realized it's slow enough for a dubstep remix and there's not a lot going on in the song that you would have to bury.
I look forward to hearing your version (as does the club).

nice job man! i like dubstep. screw the haters! they all secretly like it too.
That initial drop at "I've got the power.." is soundcloud gold. For reals I could see this in the Soundcloud top for the month. The only two cents I could throw in is that it would be cool if there was a little more of a journey as far as how the song is constructed, I.E, if it felt less like a pattern that repeats and more of a mystery voyage. That's always tricky, because you have to get back to the big drop somehow. But all in all I think this kicks ass.

Thanks, Sam. Yeah, I used to not like it a lot, but slowly it kind of grew on me.
I debated with myself on the structure thing, as I was working on it, but decided in the end to make it big, catchy, straightforward, and appropriate for clubgoers'attention spans, as opposed to something that got too evolutive and lost them.
More of a club-oriented track than a listener-oriented one, if that makes any sense.
Eventually, as I continue to get into it, I'll work on some deeper tracks that warrant more experimentation with the structure.
Cheers, yall!

I never really jumped on the "let's hate on dubstep" bandwagon and recently I've been finding a lot of songs I like that are dubstep, but more of the groovy variety. There's some tracks I'll hear that I like in the beginning but then get all experimental and I go "Fuck, why?!?" when producers start losing their soul to the almighty wobble.
I think Bassnectar is a great producer that runs the dubstep spectrum from groovy or emotional to experimental low end carnage.
