My buffer shuffler has stopped working. It will only run if it is in Edit Mode with Max open.

Please advise.

Live 8.2.1
Max/MSP 5.1.6

I have tried various steps... FYI I am a very experienced max user learning Live...

There seems to be a communication error between Live and Max... this is not just limited to the buffer shuffler anymore

Example:
If I load the Autowah Preset (Max Audio Effect> Tools> Max Autofilter> Autowah)
The filter itself works, but will not automate unless the patch is open in MSP

If I turn preview off in MSP, the effect stops moving
If I turn preview back on, it work as it should.. movement and all

There must be something getting lost in the communication if Max is not open...

I have tried to reinstall M4L... it did not help

Any ideas? Help please... I am 2 tracks away from releasing my album!

Hi, just to clarify - are you closing Max? You need to have Max open (through Live) in order for Max for Live to work. This should automatically happen when you load a Max for Live device. It won't run in standalone while this is happening, but the icon should be visible and active.

No, I am not closing Max... after opening a project with M4L, the splash page goes and things still work... it is just that none of the automation is connecting.

It seems as if the transport is not connecting to the max via the transport somehow. Other max devices still work, like the monolake grainfreeze and other things, its just things that need to be synced with the transport have all stop working
