Live 8.2.1 memory problems (Win7 x64)

I'm experiencing an interesting problem with Live (8.1.2) under Windows 7 x64. For some reason, after working with Live for a while, when I exit the program, the process remains in memory. Trying to launch Live again, of course, results in a crash. The worst part is that the process cannot be killed (through the Task Manager). I just have to wait until it dies (although I keep clicking on "Stop Process" every now and then), which usually takes close to 5 minutes. Sounds like a leak somewhere... Ableton should see if they can repro... thanks!

this issue has been around for quite a while (at least 8 months). The only solution I've found is to wait until what ever is holding on to the process (some speculation that it's the audio interface driver) lets go. killprocess does not even work.
If someone has a solution or at least a work around that that can allow folks to get going again, life would be better.
(side note, i've been running 8.2.2b1, and I've not had a crash yet...even after a long weekend in the studio. fingers crossed)

This issue is a real pain and has prevented me from using Live 8 with Win 7. I have run DPC latency checker and when these crashes occur there is no evidence of audio dropout. There is also no evidence that any one plug-in is causing the crash as the various sets I have tried loading will load fine one time then crash Live another. Another strange factor is that the crashes occur more often when trying to create a new set.
But anyway I'm going to keep testing and sending bug reports of course.
