Is it the APC40/20?
Seems so logical for Ableton to make a iphone/ipad controller app.

Hi JAMM, there are currently a number of options for controlling Live with an iPad, if you're interested. touchAble and Griid are both dedicated controller apps for Live, and most other MIDI controller apps can also be used with Live.

dont see why ableton need to do this, there are already plently of apps that will alow you to get in touch with ableton, besides they should be busy working on live 8 and 9 not some fancy app for peoples phones no?

After going thru considerable brouhaha to get the demo of Griid working on my ipod touch, I then find it's not at all reliable - some scenes simply do not fire when they are triggered. Enough to disqualify it from prime-time for me.

I would love to see Ableton come up with a iApp built from an "insider's" point of view. And, being Ableton, I think they would do it more elegantly and beautifully than anyone else.

Might just have to wait a few (years?) for it though!

The touchscreen controllers/apps are going to be 75% off the market in the future.
So why not jump on the train now.

I think Ableton are too busy finishing off the details of their latest products.

The are too busy working on a sequencer for Android.

Do you have to have max4live to be able to use the iPad with ableton?

I would think they would make a controller at some point, just a guess. Some version of Ableton app would be tricky though, they might become an app manufacturer overnight. Who knows, maybe that's the way things are going anyway?

TouchAble doesn't require max4live, just live 8.1.1 minimum

@ Pitch Black - Totally agree with you. I'm waiting for the day when Novation makes some badass new iPad Automap/Launchpad style app, just as Korg & Moog has started to venture into. I can trust the app's to be more reliable coming from a bigger corp knowing there is a dedicated team/staff working on the project.

PS - A Novation iPad Automap/Launchpad/touchAble style app sounds badass I don't even own a iPad & I want this
