Program Changes in Session View

One of the last things that I need to get working is triggering Program Changes at specific sections in Session View. It's very easy in Arrangement View; I create a clip at the specific point in the song and tell it to switch my device (in my case an Eventide TimeFactor). I'm not sure if the same thing is possible in Session View.

Can I trigger a Program Change at a SPECIFIC point in the song?

The only solution I can think of is splitting my song waveforms up into the different sections of the song and create a clip for every Program Change. The downside is that it will create a lot of tracks in the Set since I have around 8-10 songs per concert.

Please help!

Thanks,

Steve

You can automate in Session View by using clip envelopes. The way to do what you're looking for is to create a new clip labeled for program change, and draw the needed automation. Then select this clip when you're ready for the program change.

Is there any way to automatically trigger it at a certain point in the song? It will be switching my guitar effect patch on my pedal, so it kind of defeats the purpose if I have to manually trigger it.

In case anyone is interested, I figured it out.

I split my song into a bunch of scenes/sections and then I stack a bunch of MIDI Clips with Program Changes and trigger them with Follow Actions. This is all while the backing tracks are playing on the main scene.

Now I can use Session View exclusively....thank God!!!
