Using CME M-Key with Ableton

Help!
I have purchased a small MIDI hardware, the CME M-Key (44 key), and I am having trouble getting it to work in the program. I've tried to research it, and I can't find any instructions as to how to set it up. I've just found people that say they've used it with Ableton.
I have it connected via a MIDI output to USB plug to my laptop, where I am running Windows XP. I have a bit of experience in the program, but I've never had to set up the hardware, aside from unplugging a USB here or there.
I do know, however, that the MIDI devices are mostly controlled through the MIDI/SYNC tab in the preferences menu. I know that my device is powered on and connected (Windows has established a connection), but in the MIDI/SYNC, I have no options for an "Input," just "Output." This does not seem right.
What am I doing wrong? How can I get it to work? Is there something stupidly obvious I've been missing?
Please help!
