hi guys, i just a bought a second hand launchpad, guy said it had only been used 10 times, looks pretty much perfect. but it just refuses to set up properly im really getting sick of ableton and the products associated with it i mean why cant thay just work at least sometimes?
anyways ive set it up as your told to...
1 i installed the novation driver which i got from the website
2 i plugged in my launchpad and interface
3 turned on ableton
4 went to preferences and midisync
5 turned on the track and remote buttons (ive tried with sync on too)

but now when i go up to the scrolldown bar under control surfaces, there isnt even an option for launchpad! theres about 30 others listed but no launchpad. im still able to select it in the input and output scrolldown thingys though, so when all thats done at the end surprise surprise it doesnt light up.
im tearing my hair out, crying and going insane all at the same time, which probably makes sense, but if you guys could help me out id be very very very very very thankful,

8.0.1 was before the launchpad came out, so there isnt going to be any options to use it as a control surface. install a recent version

update: 8.0.4 is still out of date

protip: install up to date software before you throw a hissy little bitch fit on the internet.

I think you need 8.1. Ableton just says you need the latest version of software (lame.)

it doesn't work with all the early versions of Live 8.

I would think if you are using that version your problems would be way more numerous and severe than Live not seeing the Launchpad.

updates are free..

why wouldn't you want to be running the most bug free version of 8 anyhow.. the latest 8.2 version underwent a massive bug fixing

This is so far shaping up to be the thread of the week winner.

Just a few more posts in which the OP complains about the LP not working but somehow not going for the free update which would FUCKING MAKE IT WORK should about do it.
