the notes play just fine thru midi, but when i try to map the mod wheel to anything it doesnt recognize the movement and put it on the screen as a mappable function.

im using a turtle beach 2-1 usb midi cable. straight to the microkorg. on a mac. live 8.1

again, i turn on the key board and the keys work straight away but never able to control anything with the nobs or wheels. anything would be helpful at this point.

Hi, under Preferences->MIDI, do you have "remote" enabled for the input from your interface?

Also, you'll want to upgrade to Live 8.2.1 - there's new content and a number of bugfixes. You can get the free update here: http://www.ableton.com/latest-versions. Since you're updating from Live 8.1, make sure to download the update "with sounds."
