Hey there, I wanted to check out your experience with those 2 controllers, how well do they work together?
Do I need any special patches etc.?
I'm looking forward hearing your experiences.

EDIT:
Furthermore is it possible to make the navigation from the 40 for both controllers?

Is there anyway, that the transportcontrolls of the 40 controls also the 20?

I was wondering the same, if you've already got all the fader and knob controls on the 40, why spring for redundant controls. Plus with the user modes on the launchpad, you could assign it to all sorts of different functions, as well as using it as a cliplaunch grid!

yeah, my idea is, just adding the apc20 to extend the pads from the 40.
I want to use the Navigationcontrolls to get both apc-displays moving.
Furthermore I want to the channelselect to get goin from both controllers, so I can set a channel on the 20 and tweak the controls with the knobs of the 40

aren't there some freaks here, who code presets for APCs.
I though this already happened.

I had an APC 40 but switched out for the 20 because I was not using all the knobs/pots more into the faders and clip trigger buttons. I tend though to carry/use the apc 20 mobile with the laptop outside of the home studio since the akai mpk 88 has the faders and transport controls so use them in there

one thing that really did it for me on the apc 20 was the "NOTE MODE" button easy to switch into midi note playing with the clip buttons then when wanna go back to reg play, just press it again and is back to triggering clips

the 40 didn't have that quick switch feature, you would have to program it but then would be no quick switch back & forth 1 button like the 20

I also have an APC40 and am thinking about adding an APC20 to it to gain additional clip launch spots. I mainly use the clips to sequence hardware so generally I don't use the knobs for half the clips i use. I would also be interested in the navigation buttons on the APC40 to move both clip matrix. As well as possible MIDI mapping of knobs of APC40 to tracks on APC20 matrix.

Nice to see someone with the same interests like me, my apc-20 is already ordered.
If you have any solution please PM me ;)
I will do vice versa

That link shows almost exactly what I want to do with mine as far as physically combining them (except i want the clip grids next to each other with the knobs to the right) though I have also thought about running two laptops to possibly cut down on CPU load and give me more visual space screen-wise.
