Can I position clips along a track's time line with M4L?

Hi all,

I don't own M4L so please forgive me if this is obvious, I merely want to determine if this is possible as I'm considering a purchase.

I would like to select a clip in the arrangement view, then apply a M4L "object" that will duplicate the clip along the time line at various times calculated by the object. I'm just interested in using M4L to implement this kind of operation as if it were a simple script rather than a real time device.

Can I also vary other clip parameters at the same time (e.g. length, transposition, panning, volume etc.)

Thanks,
Pete

With M4L you can't copy and move clips in arrangement view.
But you can trigger clips in session view at any timepoints relative to the global timeline.
So basically it provides the same effect, but with a different approach.

Hi Broc,

Thanks for the reply, I understand what you're saying. I assume I can record the clip triggering just as if I were doing it manually so I can "bake" out the results.

Do you know if I can vary the clip playback parameters at the same time?

Thanks again for your help,
Pete

Changing clip parameters with M4L is somewhat limited.

Have a look at the documentation. It may give an impression what's possible.
