Waddup everyone! I'm not new to the forum but it's my first time posting anything. Very helpful community here! I just got ableton live suite 8 and for some reason my drive isn't recognizing the install disc. I'm thinking my superdrive is messing up since sometimes I have a hard time just trying to get it to read a mp3 cd. I was wondering if I would be able to download the demo version of ableton live suite from the website and install on my MacBook, then authorize it with my product key or serial # that came with my boxed copy? And would the download version of live suite 8 be the same as the install disc that I got? I have the other install discs for the sounds and instruments but I will install those when I get my SuperDrive replaced.

Yes, use the downlaod version of the Suite, it's the same things as what's on your install disc only newer. You'd need to download and install after the CD install anyway. You don't HAVE to use the disc to install the first time.
